Back in training after crash
An early crash at Bromley's National Slalom event in June meant Martin would spend the next three hours in A&E. A number of X rays later found only muscular damage to the knee but it still meant he would miss training and certainly competition for a number of weeks.
If ever there was a good time to get an injury it would be during the off-season, but with a training programme designed to build core and leg strength this interuption in routine was a real blow.
Martin's goal during the 08 Summer was to improve stamina and build muscular strength while keeping race fit with slalom events.
With all his ski cross competitors being older and larger, the target was to catch up through a training programme that would ensure he was more competitive than the previous season.
Thankfully the knee is now almost fully recovered and while not at full fitness Martin is back to building leg strength. Mountain bike training and beach running has really helped both legs and core and he is looking forward to each Gym session.
A big thanks to everyone who helped at the Bromley race.
